Amitabh Bachchan addresses his cryptic ‘time to go’ post and retirement rumours

February 28, 2025

On February 7, 2025, Amitabh Bachchan shared a cryptic post on X (formerly Twitter) stating, “Time to go,” which led to widespread speculation about his potential retirement from acting and hosting the popular quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). Fans expressed concern, with many interpreting the message as a sign of his departure from the entertainment industry.

In response to these rumors, Amitabh Bachchan addressed the issue during a recent episode of KBC 16. When a contestant inquired about the enigmatic post, Bachchan clarified that it was a misunderstanding. He explained that the phrase “Time to go” referred to his routine of heading to work. Due to his late-night schedule, he often drafts messages in the early hours. On that particular night, he began composing the post but fell asleep before completing it, leading to the incomplete and misleading message. He humorously recounted, “While writing that, I fell asleep, so it remained just that far… ‘Time to go’ and I fell asleep!”

This clarification has reassured fans that Amitabh Bachchan has no immediate plans to retire from his acting career or his role as the host of KBC. His explanation highlights the importance of context in social media communications and how easily messages can be misconstrued.
