Hina Khan becomes the honorary ambassador of Korea Tourism in India

In a significant move to strengthen cultural ties and boost tourism between India and South Korea, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) has appointed Indian television actress and breast cancer survivor Hina Khan as the Honorary Ambassador of Korea Tourism for India. The official appointment ceremony took place on May 9, 2025, at the KTO Seoul Center, known as HiKr Ground, in Seoul.

A Cultural Bridge Between India and Korea

Hina Khan, renowned for her roles in Indian television and her inspiring battle against breast cancer, expressed her excitement about the new role on social media. She shared her enthusiasm for promoting Korea’s beauty, culture, and warmth, stating, “Honored to be appointed as the Honorary Ambassador of Korea Tourism! Immersive Experience in South Korea

Prior to her appointment, Hina Khan embarked on a week-long familiarization trip organized by KTO, exploring key regions in South Korea, including Seoul, Gangwon-do, and Incheon. During her journey, she visited historical palaces, traditional hanok villages, and cultural museums, experiencing Korea’s rich heritage firsthand. She also recreated iconic K-drama scenes, such as the memorable moment from the popular drama “Goblin,” alongside her partner Rocky Jaiswal.
